Began Contract Work under Dr. Harteveld

May 15, 2016

I initially proposed and began work on a game called Embrace using Dr. Harteveld’s in-house game engine MadScience. We applied for and received a grant to continue work on the game post graduation. The game helps expose post-cancer survivors to the various scenarios most in their demographic will usually face and provides a means to foster a deeper empathy and understanding in those close to them.

Proposed Embrace Project

January 11, 2016

I approached Dr. Harteveld for an independent study to make a game that taught its player gradually and naturally better coping mechanisms. Under his guidance we approached a doctorate interested in serious games from the Massachusetts General Hospital and came up with the idea for a serious game targeting cancer survivors. Playing the game would help survivors internalize and mentally prepare for the hurdles they will likely face, and help their friends and family understand on a deeper level what their newly recovering loved one is going through.

Some of the work I made was used in work for Panasonic, Innovolt and Emory Campus Bubble.
